The Reuven Rubin House – A Piece of History

The Reuven Rubin House – A Piece of History

The renowned artist Reuven Rubin, commissioned architect Arie Elhanani to design a house to be a “dove’s nest” for his wife and children. The house was built by Solel Boneh in the 1960’s, and its outer design is suggestive of Rubin’s wishes. In its interior, the family area is a set of closely knit, yet separate and private rooms. Adjacent, but clearly distinct, is the spacious entertaining area. This area became a host to social gatherings and a meeting ground for arts, culture and politics during Israel’s formative years.

The villa is offered today, practically unchanged, with the unique lighting, airflow and atmosphere envisioned by Rubin.

Located in the highest point of an established neighborhood of Caesarea, the villa offers a view to the beach and to the ancient Roman aqueduct. At the same time, the location allows for easy and quick access to the major highway to Tel Aviv. The plot is littered with ancient olive and palm trees, is bordered by a grove of trees, and is of a size incomparable to any available in Caesarea.
